BOOK REVIEW: Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices #3) by Cassandra Clare

My thoughts:
     By the end of the book, I was on my bed, in a fetal position, crying my eyes out! I don't know whether to be happy that everyone wins in the end, or cry, because such a great series has come to a unforgettable and PHENOMENAL end.
     In the final installment to The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare, the big wedding day approaches, and Tessa Gray finds herself not preparing for a wedding day, but instead preparing for battle. Mortmain has gained something that might just lead to his mastermind plan, but he needs one last thing. Tessa. She will do anything to protect the people she loves. Especially Will and Jem- who are both dedicated to keep her safe, as well. But is it all worth it in the end, if the very people she loves end up dieing in the process?
     Like always, I'm gonna start with the amazing characters. Cassandra Clare does such an incredible job at making all her characters so real. All throughout the book, it felt like Tessa, Jem, and Will were actual human beings. Tessa was passionate, and loyal, and brave. She wasn't the strongest or fastest, yet she stood up to those she know WHERE tougher than her, without flinching. And her and Will's way with words made everything seem so magical. Didn't it? Or was that just me?
     I am completely certain that, no matter what team you are on (Team Will or Team Jem) you will be satisfied with the ending of the book. At first, I really didn't like the Epilogue. I thought it was just a ploy from Cassandra Clare, to get everyone happy, and satisfied with the ending of Clockwork Princess. I would have loved it, if the book ended without the Epilogue. But the Epilogue is meant  to indicate that Tessa never stopped loving Jem. That even though she and Will ended up together first, she never really forgot about her feelings toward Jem. Will was her love, yet Jem was her soul mate. Either way, I feel kinda sad, even though Tessa got to be with both, because Now that Jem is mortal, he's gonna start ageing. And sooner or later, he'll be old and dieing (just like will) and Tessa Will be alone, once again. Just the thought of Jem dieing gets my eyes watery! :(
     The plot of the story was great. I expected Tessa's shape shifting ability to be a much bigger part of Mortmains plan, instead of just changing into his father. But the story was really great. I find it amazing, how the bad guys in Cassandra Clare's books are never killed by the main characters! (Example: Valentine being killed by the Angel Raziel, instead of Clary or Jace. Or Mortmain being killed by Ithuriel, the angel.)
     Quick Question: Is Ithuriel, the angel inside Tessa's necklace, not the angel that was trapped in the cellar of the Wayland Manor House by Valentine?
     Around halfway through the book, everything started getting so epic, and sad, and i could not stop crying. I remember sitting on my bed, reading this book, with bawling my eyes out. My step dad them walked in and said "You need to stop reading so much. Just look at you, crying over a book. I'm pretty sure this kind of this isn't healthy for you!" I would cry while reading the book, then get way too emotional, and have to put the book down, just to cry some more.
And I'd have to avoid reading this book at school, to prevent an awkward moment in front of my fellow classmates.
     This book was just one big awesome, yet emotional roller coaster ride. it was just so great. I would recommend this book to everyone in the world, if I wasn't way too lazy. One thing is for sure. I will NEVER forget any of the characters. Charlotte, Henry, Jessamine, Will, Jem, Tessa, Sofie, Gideon, Gabriel, and Cecily will forever be in my heart. Am I forgetting anyone? Magnus Bane maybe? Well, Magnus's story still hasn't ended, has it? (City of Heavenly Fire anyone?)

Lets Talk: The Hunger Games:Catching Fire Teaser Trailer

 

Let me just start off by saying, that I watched all of the movie award JUST to what the Hunger Games teaser Trailer. I don't usually watch the movie awards, but this time, it was a must!

 

Imagine me, sitting on the couch, with my older brother right next to me, just staring at the TV.

And then.....

Liam Hemsworth comes out....

And then.....

The trailer begins...

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. :D

In case you haven't watched the teaser trailer yet, here it is...!

 

 

 

I'll tell you what was going through my mind while watching this trailer! Take a small glimpse into my mind:

1. Well, for starters, Katniss's hair is much darker! Almost black.........I LIKE IT! It makes her skin look paler. I know in the book, it says that she has tan, olive toned skin, but the dark hair-pale skin combo suits her.
2. And Peeta is starting to look even hotter. Maybe it's the fact that he's older, or maybe Josh Hucherson just looks a bit more conferable. Or....maybe he's starting to warm up to me! (He wasn't exactly my first choice for Peeta at first!) Either way, he looks sexy.
3. President Snow looks so....cold. and evil.....And old. Ha ha Just kidding!
4. I love when Katniss and Peeta are on the train, and when they look out the window, on the wall, written in red paint, it says "The odds are never in our favor."
5. WORK IT EFFIE!
6. RIOT RIOT! Seriously, this looks epic. When the citizens hold up the capital flag, and burn it, you know stuff gonna go down.  D:
7. Gale is being whipped........Ouch!
8. Katniss gets punched........Ouch!

How awesome does this book sound? Just that last line gives me the chills!

And the cover is really pretty. The title of the book sorta sound like a soap opera, but I can live with that!

My Thoughts:
     Where do I even begin? Clockwork Prince completely blew my mind. It exceeded all the expectations I had for it. Clockwork Angel left me craving for more of this great series, and I definitely got it!
     The shadowhunters are still in search of The Magister, & Tessa has tried to help by using her power to Change. She feels guilty over her brother, being a traitor. Realizing that the war Mortmain is trying to start has a deeper, more personal meaning to it, the main trio will have to travel to The Yorkshire Institute to get more information. While on the search for The magister, Tessa and the rest find out thing they would have never expected.
     The characters are the thing that really sucks me in! You genuinely care about them. They are characters that we wish to be, or to have fall in love with us. Characters that we love, and hate, and love to hate who make us reevaluate our own views.
     Tessa honestly grew so much from Clockwork Angel, to Clockwork Prince. Finding out you're possibly a warlock, that your brother hates you and would sell you out to a psychotic crazy mastermind, and that you are the key to the said psychotic crazy masterminds plan for war, can do that to a girl. She’s strong and independent without being prideful enough to refuse help when she needs it.
     Knowing what exactly happened to Will when he was younger, made me want to throw my arms around him in a big obnoxious hug. You start understanding why he does, what he does. And why he starts changing. Like it's said in the book, "Will's wall is starting to crumble". Although, it kinda irked me that Will had 5 years to look into the demon that attacked him and find out the truth, but instead waited till now. It's understandable, considering the fact that he was still pretty young when he was was attacked, and his sister died,
     You learn alot more about Jem as well. Quite honestly, now that I think about it, Jem wasn't in the first book all that much. I mean, he was there, but he wasn't there as much as Will was. In this book, Jem and Tessa get alot more time together. And, oh my, that hot and steamy scene where they we kissing. :D I actually started blushing.
     Now lets talk about Jessamine being a spy for Nate. At first, when it was said that Sofie saw her sneaking out, I thought it was just that....Sneaking out. I thought "Maybe she just doesn't like staying in the institute. Or just maybe, she was getting a breath of fresh air, and all her clothes we dirty, so she had to borrow some of the guys cloths" (The second one is a little far fetched,isn't it?) It isn't until Tessa actually said that she was probably sneaking out to see a suitor, that made me think, "Hey, maybe she's with Nate!" So, when she was discovered as a traitor, it wasn't really an "OMG" moment. More like a, "Ohhhh, shit's about to go down" moment. (Sorry for my fowl language) Either way, it really hurt me when Charlotte started crying.
     My favorite part of the book, though, was when it was discovered that Benedict Lightwood had Demon pox. Will stood up, danced in a circle and started singing:

“Demon pox, oh demon pox
Just how is it acquired?
One must go down to the bad part of town
Until one is very tired.
Demon pox, oh demon pox, I had it all along—
Not the pox, you foolish blocks,
I mean this very song—
For I was right, and you were wrong!"

 

     So, am I Team Will or Team Jem? I'm pretty sure I'm Team Will, but then again, Jem is starting to grow on me!

      Clockwork Prince was a FANTASTIC addition to The Infernal Devices series. Cassandra Clare doesn't stop amazing me with these great stories. the writing is great, the plot amazing, and the twists in this book made for a great roller coaster ride. I will most definitely put this book in my favorites list. BTW, guess what book I'm reading next?! Clockwork Princess!

So many YA books are being adapted into movie nowadays. So I thought, hey, why not talk about them. Now, I haven't read EVERY YA book out there.
