BOOK REVIEW: Jessica Rules The Dark Side (Jessica #2) by Beth Fantaskey

Summary:
It’s one thing to find out you’re a vampire princess. It’s a whole other thing to actually rule. Newly married Jessica Packwood is having a hard enough time feeling regal with her husband, Lucius, at her side. But when evidence in the murder of a powerful elder points to Lucius, sending him into solitary confinement, Jessica is suddenly on her own. Determined to clear her husband’s name, Jessica launches into a full-scale investigation, but hallucinations and nightmares of betrayal keep getting in her way. Jessica knows that with no blood to drink, Lucius’s time is running out. Can she figure out who the real killer is—and whom she can trust—before it’s too late?

Rate: 5 out of 5 stars

My Thoughts:
To Romania we go! Jessica and Lucius are finally together and....(wait for it)...MARRIED! Which means, Jessica and Lucius must take on the role of .....how should I put it? Leaders? Kings? Rulers? Well, you know what I'm saying. but it's not that easy for Jessica. She has to try to agust to he new vampire self, while leaving behind her American lifestyle. And then, to top it off, A vampire is murdered, and everyone has their fingers pointed at Lucius. Crazy right?? Jessica is forced to take over, while lucian's trial date inches closer and closer.
I loved whatching Jessica bloom into a princess. She went from a scared little girl, to a confident young women. and the mistery was really cool. While most people probablly figured out the murderer half way throught the book, Fantaskey puts alot of twists and turns that make the book much more entertaining.
Unlike the first book, this book isn't just told from Jessica's point of view. It's told between four alternate point of view's: Jessica, Lucius, Mindy (Jessica's bestfriend), and Raniero (Lucians cousin). At first, some might think it would get confusing, but it actually wasn't. And it was so funny. Raniero and Mindy added to the comedy, which was perfect, considering the fact that Lucians speech always provides each and everyone of use with so many laughs. So triple the laughs in this book, guys!
One of the best things about this series is the give and take realationship between Lucius and Jess. Neither one dominates their relationship. Ms Fantaskey introduces a new romance in this novel: Mindy and Raniero (who has an interesting history). It goes from feisty to heart felt to laugh out loud funny, to tender. And just the thing now that Lucius and Jess are wed.
The only issue I had with this book is that it lacked a lot of the constant romance, like with the first book. Obviously there’s a reason for that. With Lucius...well...being in jail and all. but I missed him a lot during this book. I mean, don't get me wrong. Lucise and Jess love each other, and they always will! He’s so strong, and noble and fierce and so incredibly in love with his wife. Just the way he speaks of her in his letters to Raniero,   that noble prose of his.....*swoon* There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for Jess and all hell would break loose if anyone ever hurt a hair on her head. But i couldn't help but wish that he and jessica where more together in this book.
If you loved Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side, then this is a must read! I hope Ms Fantaskey chooses to write more books in the Jessica series. Maybe kids? Little baby Lucians and Jessicas? Is that to much to ask?

Quotes:

“I also need you to "spread the word," quietly, that if any harm should come to Antanasia during my imprisonment, I will not only tear down these walls stone by stone, but -- once freed -- shatter the rule of law and destroy, with great satisfaction, anyone who arouses in me even the slightest suspicion. Indeed, if so much as one hair on my wife's head is disturbed while I cannot protect her, this kingdom will see retribution that will go down in the history books -- to be read by the very few who remain standing.
- Lucius”
― Beth Fantaskey, Jessica Rules the Dark Side

“Someday Jessica" he says quietly,"you will stand before me in this very room, as we prepare for some function which
we both dread, for we have been to so many in our years together, and you will smile and reach up to adjust my crooked tie, as you always do. And one of our children—perhaps our first son—will tug at your dress, demanding our attention. Then I will kiss you, and reach down to lift our child, thinking, How did I come to be so happy?”
― Beth Fantaskey, Jessica Rules the Dark Side

“Jessica: If we only have daughters?
Lucius: If we have only daughters, I will be the happiest vampire alive. For I have come to learn--from you--that a princess can be as powerful as a prince.”

BOOK REVIEW: Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports (Maximum Ride #3) by James Patterson

Summary: In MAXIMUM RIDE: SAVING THE WORLD AND OTHER EXTREME SPORTS, the time has arrived for Max and her winged "Flock" to face their ultimate enemy and discover their original purpose: to defeat the takeover of "Re-evolution", a sinister experiment to re-engineer a select population into a scientifically superior master race...and to terminate the rest. Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel have always worked together to defeat the forces working against them--but can they save the world when they are torn apart, living in hiding and captivity, halfway across the globe from one another?

Rate: 5 out of 5 stars

My thoughts:
The Maximum Ride series will always be one of my favorites series. Maybe even my favorite. And might I say, since I believe I forgot to before, that Maximum Ride is possibly the coolest name for a main character ever. Just sayin.
I actually had to re-read this book, because I already read it so long ago. Everything was well-written. The plot, the characters, everything. It was so suspenseful. I meant to read only the first part, and ended up finishing it by the end of the day! So much actions, all the time, and yet there are still so many personal aspects that draw in the readers and connect them to the characters. It's like your watching a movie or video game in your mind. The scenes were kick ass and Max and the flock are still incredibly awesome! I won’t spoil anything for you, but I have to say that James Patterson thought a lot of things through. Speaking of the author, there is too much humor here.
Like I just said, I'm totally attached to the characters. In fact, this is the #1 reason I am still reading and enjoying this series. The way the Flock has to fight and work together and survive is inspiring, despite how unrealistic it all is. There are a couple of new characters introduced in this book as well as the return of characters from previous books. New villians - Flyboys - are introduced as Eraser replacements and an evil scientist with an Shwartznegger accent is also introduced in this book. Other recurring characters are Jeb, Ari (who undergoes a dramatic personality chance,) Max's voice (whose identity is revealed,) and Max II from School's Out - Forever makes an appearance. Fang is my favorite. He is just so damn hot. I love his verion of "changing Max's mind". ;)
Everything just intensifys when the Flock splits up. I think that plot-changer definitely provided Patterson with the ammo necessary to do some huge character development. I liked to watch Fang's role become more crucial to the fate of the world (As Max's right-hand man, he is a leader and a role model). Plus, I thought it was important, and funny, for Max to have to swallow her pride and ask for help. It made her seem all the more human. I am such a big FAX (Fang&Max) supporter in this book. And in all of them.
Finally some of the questions that have been bugging the readers since book one are answered in book three. The results didn't really surprise me, but I appreciated them nonetheless. It was this "wrapping-up" effect that made Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports really great!
This book is great for reader that enjoy action with a dash of comedy and a bit of romance. Tis book is worth the read.

Quotes:

“What I said yesterday didn't mean anything! I love everyone in the flock! Plus, it was the Valium talking!"
"Uh-huh. You just keep telling yourself that. You looove me."
Max: (tries to punch him)
"Pick a tree. I'll go carve our initials in it."
Max: (screams and runs into bathroom)”
― James Patterson, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports

“Tell me again what we're doing here," I said, running a continuous scan of our surroundings.
Fang popped some Cracker Jack into his mouth. "We're here to watch manly men do manly things."
I followed Fang's line of sight: He was watching the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, who were not doing manly things, by any stretch of the imagination.”
― James Patterson, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports

“You don't speak much, do you?" ter Borcht said, circling him slowly.
Fittingly, Fang said nothing.
"Vhy do you let a girl be de leader?" ter Borcht asked, a calculating look in his eye.
"She's the tough one," Fang said.
Dang right, I thought proudly.
"Is dere anysing special about you?" asked ter Borcht. "Anysing vorth saving?"
Fang pretended to think, gazing up at the ceiling. "Besides my fashion sense? I play a mean harmonica.”
― James Patterson, Saving the World and Other Extreme Sports

“Walking over to Iggy, he poked him with his shoe. "Does anysing on you vork properly?"
Iggy rubbed his forehead with one hand. "Well, I have a highly developed sense of irony."
Ter Borcht tsked. "You are a liability to your group. I assume you alvays hold onto someone's shirt, yes? Following dem closely?"
"Only when I'm trying to steal their dessert," Iggy said truthfully.”

EXCERPT:

"So you’re warning me away from you?" I was appalled. "Then why are you doing this…guarding me at all? Why the torment? Why watch over me when you know that…that we should be more?" I felt on the verge of tears, which amazed me. How could pain be so sharp in the afterlife? "Answer me, Eran. Why?"

He sighed. "Because it is my job."

I gasped, more offended than I’d ever been. "I’m a job to you?" I stared at him and waited for his head to rise but he refused to look at me.

"Yes," he said weakly, defeated. His beautiful, rugged voice released as a whimper and the pain inside me grew. "You are just a job."

I didn’t think it was possible but the emptiness I’d felt with Eran being gone those many weeks held no comparison to the magnitude of what I was experiencing right now.

I felt as if I had been gutted.

"No…" I shook my head. "I don’t believe you because you see, Eran, I can feel your emotions run through me. Whether you want to admit them or not, I know how you feel about me."

Stunned, his head jerked up, his brilliant blue-green eyes drilling into mine. "You feel me too? How can that be?"

"I don’t know. But I do know that I feel in you the same emotions I have."

He groaned and turned away. "That’s not possible…" he muttered, pausing. When he spoke again his voice was strained, determined. I drew in a breath as the intensity of these emotions ran through me. "It doesn’t matter. I won’t let this happen. This will not happen…I will not let us be together."

"Because you are my guardian? Then let me make it easy on us…You’re fired."

"It doesn’t work that way, Magdalene," he said, quieter but still resolute.

"I didn’t want you to watch over me, Eran. I never asked for it."

As if he’d become an entirely new person, his reply was flat and detached. "You’re a messenger. You require a guardian. It’s as simple as that."

"Then we’ve just solved the issue, didn’t we?" I said causing him to finally look up. "This will be my last message. It’s from me to you…goodbye Eran."

Turning swiftly, I walked away just before the tears came.

BOOK REVIEW: Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey

Summary:
The undead can really screw up your senior year ...

Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancĂ©. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire war—and save Lucius’s soul from eternal destruction.

Rate:5 out of 5 stars

My Thoughts:
Ohh, I really enjoyed reading this. After about 60 pages I was so into the story I didn't feel like putting it down.
This story is about identity, about understanding who you are and who you were born to be. There are many similarities to other YA books out there (Twilight, Vampire Academy are two that immediately came to mind), some cliches, but I felt so invested in the lives of Jessica and Lucius that their story seemed fresh and unique
The Vampire prince, Lucius Vladescu from Romania, comes to find his betrothed, Jessica, or "Antanasia" (btw, I totally thought her name was Anastasia until about halfway through the book, when I realized it was spelled a bit funky) who doesn't know anything about the fact that she was born as a vampire princess in Romania. Jessica reacts in a very realistic manner when she hears the news; "You're all bleedin' mad." (not quoting her directly here) You would think that when something so serious and important is coming for you in your future, your parents would tell you about it... But no.
Is it a frilly, lovey dovey, cute romantic story? No! Actually, towards the ending it turns out to be quite dark. Murder attempts, actual murder... self deprecation. But that's what makes it so refreshing. These creatures are VAMPIRES! They're not nice beings. They're scary and dangerous, and if Jessica is going to Romania she's obviously going to have to live in fear of maybe being murdered some day.
Lucius's letters to his uncle were awesome and really gave insight to his struggles and desires. They were poignant, funny, full of wit, wisdom, and observations about everyday American life that were hilarious. The romance was very sweet, very YA, but also full of a passionate underlying sexual tension.
Jessica is that one character who makes my eyes gleam and tear up with pride. She isn't one of those whiny, "I can't live without Edward," poor excuses of a female protagonist. Once Lucius enters the picture, her hostility and sarcasm and endurance are awe-inspiring. She was funny and  logical. I also loved Jessica's attempts at linking logic with the illogical.
Lucius just makes me laugh. I just love how he's all snotty and disapproving and judgmental and "big vocabulary-ish". Yes, I've grown to be *swoon* for him, Lucius is that snobby, arrogant, rich-crazed vampire who gave me the laughs whenever!
Because of this book, I have a feeling that vampire might exist. Okay, call me crazy but I do have that feeling. This book make vampire sound almost normal. I mean NORMAL to be standing in this world with extra-complicated human.
So in conclusion, "Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side" is dark, humorous, a tad provocative, with a pinch of snark. Late teenage girls will fall for it, no doubt

Quotes:

“American women. Why do you all want to be nearly invisible? Why not have a physical presence in the world? Women should have curves, not angles. ...One should never confuse fashionable with beautiful. ...Eat. Be happy to have curves. A presence.”
― Beth Fantaskey, Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

“Where do you. come from?" Frank challenged, puffing his chest, a little bolder now that he could breathe. "Some of us are starting to wonder."
"I come from civilization," Lucius retorted. "You wouldn't be familiar with the territory. Now pick up the books.”
― Beth Fantaskey, Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

“Lucius paused, turning on his heel to face me. "I grow weary of your ignorance." He moved closer to me, leaning down and peering into my eyes. "Because your parents refuse to inform you, I will deliver the news myself, and I shall make this simple for you." He pointed to his chest and announced, as though talking to a child, "I am a vampire." He pointed to my chest. "You are a vampire. And we are to be married, the moment you come of age. This has been decreed since our births."

I couldn't even process the "getting married" part, or the thing about "decreed." He'd lost me at "vampire."

Nuts. Lucius Vladescu is completely nuts. And I'm alone with him, in an empty barn.

So I did what any sane person would do. I jammed the pitchfork in the general direction of his foot and ran like hell for the house, ignoring his yowl of pain. ”
― Beth Fantaskey, Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side

“I like pink."
Lucius sniffed. "It's just red's sorry, weak cousin.”

BOOK REVIEW: The Selection (The Selection #1) By Kiera Cass

Summary:
For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself--and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined

Rate: 4 out of 5 stars

My Thoughts:
The Selection was described as The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor - and if you know me a bit, you know that I love The Hunger Games! (BUT COME ON, WHO DOESN'T) They weren't that much alike, though. But I still loved The Selection. ALOT
I'm gonna be honest with y'all. The only reason I first bought this book was because of the cover. Just look at it! That dress is Beautiful! Whoever made that dress is a genius. i wouldn't mind wearing that for a day!
Okay, enough with the cover! This book was great! Kiera Cass wrote a book that was both entertaining and romantic. The whole setting was nice. What really got me clinging to this book, was Maxon! Don't get me wrong! i loved all the characters.....except Aspen (I'll explain later on)
I loved the story in The Selection so much. It was just a ton of fun – and dystopians aren’t usually fun, per say. (ya know. It's usually blood and guts and WAR WAR WAR) I liked idea of the caste system a lot. And the idea of competing for the Prince’s attention. It was a combination of The Bachelor and Cinderella. And bonus heaviness with the war going on and what not.
As for the characters in The Selection – I’m usually team original boy, but I honestly really only liked Aspen in the beginning. The other side of the triangle is Aspen. I don't like him. The little slime-ball dumped America because she gave him some food then had the balls to come crying back to her. NO! I hope she ends up with Maxon. When Prince Maxon entered the picture, I was like "Aspen who?"I love Maxon. He is totally misunderstood. He isn't stiff, aloof, mean. He's actually really sweet and CUTE. As for America herself, I was rooting for her the whole time and I liked her. I liked her independence and determination, and I think she’ll end up with Maxon (my opinion).
All in all, I BETTER GET THE SECOND BOOK ASAP OR I WILL EXPLODE!! DO YOU FEEL MY PAIN, KIERA???
The ending wasn't necessarily a cliffhanger. You weren't going "GASP! WHAT? DID THAT JUST HAPPEN??". It was more of a "Wow. I need the next book NOW!". Which reminds me.......I need the next book now!

Quotes:

“Do you think the ability to sleep in
counts as a special skill?” I asked Dad, trying to sound torn over the decision.
“Yes, list that. And don’t forget to write that you can eat an entire meal in under five minutes,” he replied. I laughed. It was true; I did tend to inhale my food.
“Oh, the both of you! Why don’t you just
write down that you’re an absolute heathen!” My mother went storming from the room.”
― Kiera Cass, The Selection

“...Maxon lowered his lips to mine and gave me the faintest whisper of a kiss.

Something about the tentativeness of it made me feel beautiful. Without a word, I could understand how excited he was to have this moment, but then afraid at the same time. And deeper than any of that, I sensed that he adored me.

So this is what it felt like to be a lady.”
― Kiera Cass, The Selection

“Mom was bossy. Even in print I could hear her tone, smugly congratulating me on already earning the prince's affections and telling me firmly to keep up whatever I was doing.
Yeah, Mom, I'll just keep telling the prince that he has absolutely no shot with me and offend him as often as I can. Great plan.”
― Kiera Cass, The Selection

“- Just that. Your family must be very different from mine.
- I’d say so. - I laughed. - For one, no one wears their tiaras to breakfast.
- Maxon smiled. - More of a dinner thing at the Singer house?”
- “Of course.”
― Kiera Cass, The Selection

BOOK REVIEW: Until I Die by Amy Plum

Summary:
Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.

As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.

Rate: 4 out of 5 stars.

My Thoughts:
I am so far behind! I read this book months ago and haven't gotten around to writing a review. When I read Die for Me last year, I fell in love with Amy Plum and her writing. This was no different. Although I had a hard time getting into the book; I found it a little slow to start, and nothing seemed to be happening for a while.I even got discouraged at one point because I felt like nothing was happening. But I am SO GLAD I kept going. It really starts to pick up near the middle, and from that point, I just had to know what was going to happen.
Until I Die kinda surprised me.........in a good way. It didn’t suffer from “second book” syndrome! You know what I mean. In the first book our hero and heroine are working so hard to be together and then they finally get to, at the end. Only to find some sort of unobtainable obstacle in book two that pushes them apart. Ya know...like in the Hush Hush series, Twilight series, and  Evermore series!
But..no..it didn't . I kept waiting for it to happen, but nope! They did, though, have argument. Sure Vincent and Kate had their share of struggles, but they were together. And, sure they were keeping stuff from each other, but they would always eventually tell each other! These are stuff that normal couple go through too, so this made it all the more awsome.
This sequal was great! I absolutlly love Ambrose and Jules! And I really missed Charlotte in this book. She was always someone I was looking forward to reading about in the first book. But, hey, Amy Plum had to switch it up a little. I also really liked how all the revenents love each other so much.  The unconventional family that they are all a part of. The addition of the new characters braught more entertainment, and action, which I loved. I really loved it all. Even though, I figued the bad guy out way before kate did.
I really loved Plum's writing style. She make a reader feel like he is actually in paris, while this is all going down! You can tell that Plum has a wonderful understanding of the city.
In a nutshell, I really like this book. It was a wonderful sequel to Die For Me, and that cliffhanger had me wishing I had the next book in my hands, NOW!

PS: I WANT A SPIN-OFF SERIES WITH JULES AS THE MAIN CHARACTER AND I WANT IT NOW!! (I saw a couple of people talking about this, and i totally agreed!)

Quotes:

“Still in one piece?” Vincent teased, pulling me close & planting a soft kiss on my lips. “After dirty-dancing with Jules, I’m not sure.”
― Amy Plum, Until I Die

“And I've got THIS," I pulled out the signum and held it up for him to see, "that says I'm kindred. And I've got THIS," I pointed at my head, "that says I'm as smart as you. And I have THIS," I held up my middle finger, "that says go to hell, you immortal bigot."
And with that I spun around and stomped out the door, filing the expression on Arthur's face in a mental folder labeled "Kate's Proudest Moments".”
― Amy Plum, Until I Die

“Those are pretty," She commented, leaning down to smell the flowers.
"They're from Violette," I said, watching for her reaction.
"They look like weeds," she replied, straightening.”

BOOK REVIEW: City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare

Summary:
When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder -- much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing -- not even a smear of blood -- to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

This is Clary's first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It's also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace's world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know. . . .

Exotic and gritty, exhilarating and utterly gripping, Cassandra Clare's ferociously entertaining fantasy takes readers on a wild ride that they will never want to end.

Rate: 5 out of 5 stars!

My thoughts:
WOW. This book.........is something! The plot was quite amazing. Fast-paced, & thrilling with enough romance and mystery to keep everyone in its grip. And what an iron-fast grip it is! You are wraped in from page 2 and you don’t want to let go for the world.
The thing I loved the most about this book was the characters! All of the characters in City of Bones are really well-written and easily lovable. Isabelle is such a strong character. I would love to meet her.....or have her as a body guard. Either one's great! And i think it's awsome how Cassandra clare gave the gay population some voice, through Alec. Clary was a cool lead character and i loved how her and Jace had alot of snarky conversations. Which bring me to Jace! Jace … oh my, Jace! He’s the kind of boy that will melt your insides. He certinally has his bad qualities, yet, to me, they are all perfection!! *fan girl in lovvvvee* I know, i know....you're all probablly like "blahhh, Jace isn't perfect", but all his bad qualities make him way more realistic!
His romance with Clary? Fast and furious. I personally think that they make a really beautiful couple - one that seems to love each other so beautifully that they put shame to other couples in the same room. I have no doubt that this *ahem obstacle* (NO SPOILER) will turn out to be not true because that just ruins the chances for these two and I kind of doubt any author would do that in the first book. On the other hand, I do NOT like Simon and Clary. To be honest, I feel like that was just thrown in for more entertainment and there’s really nothing there. Please, Cassandra, don’t turn this into a love triangle! Isn’t one person enough for you? And Please please please tell me Alec and Magnus Bane have a chance!! That’s something I’m rooting for even more than the others. I know there’s probably a huge age difference, but it’s not too great to be overcome, right?
So overall, I’m just beating myself up for not reading this sooner! City of Ashes, where are you??? :)

Quotes:

“Don't order any of the faerie food," said Jace, looking at her over the top of his menu. "It tends to make humans a little crazy. One minute you're munching a faerie plum, the next minute you're running naked down Madison Avenue with antlers on your head. Not," he added hastily, "that this has ever happened to me.”
― Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“That's why when major badasses greet each other in movies, they don't say anything, they just nod. The nod means, 'I' am a badass, and I recognize that you, too, are a badass,' but they don't say anything because they're Wolverine and Magneto and it would mess up their vibe to explain.”
― Cassandra Clare, City of Bones

“I forgot that's what gets you all hot and bothered, Jace, girls killing things."
"I like anyone killing things, especially me." he said with a smile.”
